Can men breastfeed? It may sound ridiculous and odd as it seems, men can lactate actually. Let me tell you how.
In their 1896 book, Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine, Dr. George Gould and Dr. Walter Pyle recount several occurrences of men breastfeeding their young. The stories include a sailor who put his son to his breast to quiet him and started producing milk; a South American peasant who sustained his child with his own breast milk during his wife’s illness; and a Chippewa man who put his infant to his breast following the death of his wife and produced enough milk to rear the child. The phenomenon hasn’t stopped.

In 2002, a Sri Lankan man named B. Wijeratne lost his wife and was left to care for their 18-month-old daughter. When the child refused powdered milk, Wijeratne tried something different. “Unable to see her cry, I offered my breast,” Wijeratne told a Sri Lankan newspaper. “That’s when I discovered I could breastfeed.” Wijeratne isn’t alone.
All men can breastfeed, because they possess the two most vital components for lactating—mammary glands and pituitary glands. Mammary glands, which produce milk, are present in all mammals. In fact, they’re one of our defining characteristics. In some cases, such as with mice, the mammary glands of the males are too underdeveloped to function. In humans, however, they’re fully formed in both sexes, complete with breastfeeding ducts and nipples.
Of course, for a human to actually breastfeed, those mammary glands have to be activated somehow. In women, this usually happens during pregnancy, when the brain’s pituitary gland starts releasing large amounts of a hormone called prolactin, which prepares the breasts to produce milk.
All men produce small amounts of prolactin during their lifetimes. It’s released after orgasms, for example, and may be responsible for the associated feelings of satisfaction and relaxation. But typically, it’s never present in large enough quantities for men to breastfeed. Under the appropriate psychological circumstances, however, the mind can demand that the body produce more of the hormone. This often happens to mothers who adopt children and suddenly find they can nurse. And as Dr. Gould and Dr. Pyle have documented, there’s a long history of it happening in men, too.
I could not believe it at first, but through several points it is prove that men can breastfeed! So how about it guys? Do you want to try breastfeeding your child? (^_^)

No, I don't. I don't think my body can be like them. I am biologically with most testosterone and less estrogen.
If something miracle happen to me, I might do like them, but I'm not positive about that.
How are u so sure about that? more testosterone rather than estrogen? Having medical check up already ek??hehe

Miracle is only for chosen people. I don't think I am chosen by God to be special like that.
I'm positive about the hormone statistic of my body. That is why my body is built like this. My body was built for man works.
My negative response to the miracle don't mean that I don't believe on God, but statistically, there are less then 1% people in the world are chosen for certain types of miracles.
For me, I don't think I can afford to bear the responsibility as a mother. This job is specially given to women because women are the best for the job. That's why God give this responsibility to women, because they are very tough and men can't manage to receive the responsibility. Women are stronger in patient then men.
I'm impress with your opinion on women. It is rare to see guys praises women like you do. I usually confront guys that is ego to admit the specialty of women although actually they know they need a women by their side. Men and women are made for each other. Is is true they have their own responsibility and task given by God.

Women should be praised. No women, I won't be here today. No women, men might fighting themselves as no love and soft touch from women.
That's why Islam raised up the women status in society and our prophet Muhammad pbuh. said the heaven is just under mom's palm.
Yes, men are good in leading the communities, and controlling the countries, powers, pride, glory, politics, managing the family and so on. But then, behind of their glory, there is a women stand behind him. Women complete men life. So do men, they complete women life.
But then, when come to inner part of humanity (feelings, emotion, etc.), women are great in that part. A word from women can soften men heart. A word also can strengthen men heart.
Then, when look back to the main point of men and women creation, they are completing each other. 9 passions and 1 mind are not perfect. There are also 9 minds and 1 passion, they are not perfect for men. Women and men made to make them 10 for each passion and minds.
Soon, we can see that women are just in same level with men. I admit women powers. That is why Saidatina Aisyah r.a had became a leader for Muslims after dead of our prophet. And also his daughter, Saidatina Fatimah r.a was also a leader of a government called Fatimiyah Kingdom in Egypt.
But then, men should aware their situation now. Most of them are reversing to the back. Most of them are just take all things for granted. Men should be the leader for women, and men have lots of responsibility to women. They should not mess it up. World is now in reverse order. Women are working while men just stay at home doing home works.
This is still okay if women dare these to be happened but I hope that these thing to be happened: Totally role changes; men breed for a child. *_*"
Hoho.. I am not dare to watch such thing would happen. men breed child? huhu, it is different, real different world it will be.. They say that guy can be soft or hard depend on his personality. As it may develop the child it self. Men is usually the tougher one, women seek comfort to them. Though women might be at work but deep down they still need a guy by their side.
So, i guees that to men breed child? They surely need a women. I see that most guy who is alone raising their child will often get married then.. what do u think? hmm..
That's why I said before that men completing women and the vice versa.
I have no idea if men breed child. It might be like a movie titled 'Junior' cast by Arnold Schwarzenegger. I guess you may know that movie.
That is why women are so great in taking care of children. Most of men can't effort to do that job.
The important thing is, we were made by God to complete each other. That is what had written by God since Adam and Eve were created.
I watch that movie. If i am not mistaken. It is a nice movie. shows how man can also struggle to raise their children.
But by turning it upside down. it is a natural occurence to mankind. When one person go, it will be replaced by new ones. I can't imagine my life without my mom and dad! it will be certainly miserable..huhhuhu
I like those movie too, and I found that, they put some values there. Arnold (cast in the movie) cried when he know his son was healthy before he breed him.
It shows that, men could have woman's sensitivity if men pregnant and breed a child.
The important thing is parents' love is the most precious thing in the world.
