::The Group::Oh yeah!Alhamdulillah.We won the Bridge Cup! actually just consolation prizes and we're at top 4! haha.its not like soccer match or whatsoever, but still, remembrance of the hardship of building the bridge make us think this is just worth it. I have learn a lot during the construction of the bridge. About deflection,load and stuff. It makes learning process easier. Well, just wanna share our moments with you all. SO that everyone could see the situation that we've been through before.yikess..still..nah..

Thank god that our bridge can sustain the weight of 5kg load without any crack.Our bridge is weight of 312g only and our deflection is quite little that is 1.97.We just use 'lidi satay' and a '502' glue that its strength is just like GAM GAJAH to construct the bridge and thanx to brother Afiq, our Perkasa senior that have been very supportive and being our unofficial advisor.We also 'kikir' our 'lidi satay' to ensure that the connection between each members is dense.You know,the connection is really important in constructing a building.It is called joint(joining a member between a member).If the joint is not connected properly,a building will easily crack or destructed. Its all civil stuff..hee~

congrats!!! As I remember when I was in the Matriculation, I participated in this same kind of competition but however with no reason, my bridge became shorter by 2cm and disqualified from the competition. Test sill done to the bridge and if my bridge was not disqualified, it must be at 3rd place by ratio of weight of the bridge to the total maximum load that can it hold.
Using the same materials as your bridge, my design was an arc-suspension designed bridge. As I remember, my bridge can hold 12 lbs load on the bridge with a little deflection. It could can hold more than 12 lbs. From my theoretical calculation, my bridge will be started to crack only by 25 lbs load acted on it.
The winner for that competition was a group that used Harbour Bridge design for their bridge. It can load about 32 lbs of load.
p/s: suspension bridge is very hard to build for model sized ratio to the actual bridge. All calculation and suitable materials should be considered before build it.

ouh.is there such competition at Matriculation??Weird.Ya..you remind me of our bridge span too..can't exceed certain value if not it will be diqualified.what types of material did you use?how many members are you in a group?

do ur arc design just look like my members design shown in the picture?? 12 lbs?what its weight actually in g or kg?not familiar with the lbs..as our MOM and TOS usually uses kg..huu~

About the design, it was not same as in the picture. The design was just like the penang bridge, but it was full suspension bridge with another tower at the both ends of the bridge.
12 lbs with conversion of 0.45359 is equal to 5.4431 kg. Maximum load: 25 lbs = 11.3398 kg. The winner won with maximum load at 14.5 kg
