Counting seconds...

Assalamualaikum and Good day

New year new resolutions. What about it? I presume that it is all about bettering ourselves. The clock is ticking and so do our years of life. We never know when will be our exact 'time'.Will it be next week, next month, next year or perhaps tomorrow?? My oh my..

Have you ever wondered? Sitting on your comfy chair and thinking alone about how your life gonna be ended? Is it gonna be a worthy or a worthless death? It might sound scary to some. Especially to those who enjoys life most. What about that doesn't? Do suicide is the best answer to all the misery??

It came out to me when I was watching an anime turned human movie that is the Death Note. Simplifying the story is that, the main character used a so called note book that is the 'Death Note'. The notebook is owned by a reaper or the person chosen by the reaper. In addition, the names that is written or how it will happen in it will certainly approach death. This movie appeals to me most as I believe that everybody has their own life span. In the Muslim belief, it is all stated in Luh Mahfuz..we will never know when, where or how our death will occur.

I have read an article about how wise someone can be if they think about death more. I do agree with it as when we think more about death, we will eventually do more good things, left the bad things and in short we will become a more productive and positive person rather than before. Things that I could conclude here is that you will be blossomed to be a new motivated different person doing all sorts of stuff.

I happen to notice a phrase through my favorite book "Chicken Soup for the Woman Soul" that is the 'bitterest tears shed over grave are the words left unsaid and deeds left undone'. The message behind this phrase is to say that it is really saddening to encounter death when actually you still have words to say and haven't done the things that you wanted to do.

For instance, you are close to your mother/father, sibling, husband/wife or even the ONE, you know that you have loved and cared for them enough. Maybe for you "action speaks louder than words". This is true but sometimes, even they know that you loved them so much but they still thirst or longing for a words of appreciation or love. This is because humans never really satisfy. We are created that way. With full of lust and desires. Straighten things up is to say that everybody sure love praises or sweet talks right? and so do the others..it will make ones day. So don't delay or being too rush on this matter. It doesn't cost you a cent to just reward the people that you love with a simple praise or words of appreciation. You will definitely instill the good feeling inside your loved ones and make you feel good about yourself too.

Apart from that, I have been exchanging ideas and talks with a sister which I met in my Pengurusan Kewangan dan Analisis Produktiviti course. She make me realize things as she ask me a few question. "Do you remember what your father or mother buy for you when you are at age 5?". I silenced. I barely remembers actually..it's been years. Then she asked again, "Do you remember where you father and mother brought you when you are at the same age?". I quickly answered yes. Then she simplify it by saying that how it goes with relationship between human beings. When you spend time or doing good deeds for people, they will remember. But when you showers them with materials that certainly didn't last, they will take it for granted. I learned quite a lesson that day. Now, I happen to appreciate and ensure that I spend time enough for my family, friends and my loved ones. I didn't want to miss a thing. I wanted them to know each moment that I really loved and appreciate them in my life.

Thinking death has open up my mind on thinking things far beyond. Have I done good deeds enough to make me a worthy inhabitant of Heavens?? We were so busy on doing stuff that we forget about our loved ones that has sacrifice a lot for us without asking for anything in return. Also, perhaps we were too busy for the people around us until we forget to cherish and sustain the relation between us and our Creator that has always look after us and given us all sorts of livelihood from the above.

It is a norm for us to seek for help when we are in trouble and also it is rare to seek for them when we are in happiness.

In a nutshell, there is still SO MUCH to do in life. We wasted all the seconds and minutes by saying how boring life has been or sleeping is the only way to forget about it. Well, it is wrong! You could make ones day brighter and you could change the world if you really wanted to! A small gesture is enough to say it all. You will LOST them if you take everything for granted. Don't blame on losing it and start to point fingers towards others. Just mirror ourselves because if you don't appreciate the people around you especially your loved ones, you certainly doesn't deserve them... That is why we lost them. It is just as simple as that. :)
